CERAM CORE® Piping:
Abrasion-Resistant Fiberglass Pipe
Manufactured by Smith Fibercast Fiberglass Pipe, Stocked Locally by CFPC
Smith Fibercast CERAM CORE® Piping is a fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin pipe with a special abrasion-resistant liner composed of small spherical beads of high alumina ceramic, held in an epoxy matrix. Because of its unique combination of ceramic beads and epoxy resin, CERAM CORE® pipe also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance.
CERAM CORE® piping is specifically designed for the severe abrasive conditions caused by sharp angular particles in high flow velocities. Most noticeable is its successful service in handling bottom ash. Other typical services are sand lines, fly ash lines and mine tailings.
Construction: Filament wound FRP pipe with epoxy or vinyl ester resin and fiberglass roving with special abrasion resistant liners
Temperature Range: Up to 200°F/ 93°C
Joint Types: Self aligning flanged
Chemical Service: Severe abrasive conditions caused by sharp angular particles in high flow velocities such as bottom ash, sand lines and mine tailings.
FRP Size Range: 6" - 16"
Inner Corrosion Barrier: Abrasion-resistant 130 mil liner of high alumina ceramic
beads.
Pressure Ratings: Up to 225 psig/ 16 bar
