RamParts® Heavy Duty Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps (AODs)
For Sludges, Slurries, Corrosives and Abrasives

    [Ramparts Pumps, Ramparts AOD Pumps]

The rugged construction and extra-thick casing of RamParts® air-driven single diaphragm pumps stand up to the abuses of the most demanding sludge and slurry applications. They overcome the "high-wear" problem commonly found in double diaphragm and progressive cavity pumps. Air-driven diaphragm pumps are capable of operating dry on suction lifts up to 20 feet (6.5 m) and handling liquids with solids contents up to approximately 70%. Depending on the pump model, they will pass up to 3" (76 mm) diameter spherical solids. (Solids size determined by check valve type).

Pump stroke rate, discharge stroke time, suction drive pressure and discharge drive pressure can all be adjusted independently on RamParts diaphragm pumps. Pumps will easily handle heavy sludges at their rate of accumulation in clarifiers and settling basins. When it comes to handling heavy sludges and slurries, there"s only one name you need to know – RamParts®.

The SANDPIPER® air-operated, double diaphragm pump (AODD) range offers customers a variety of unique problem solving AODD pump designs.

    About SANDPIPER Diaphragm Pumps:
The name SANDPIPER originated during the development of the first Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pump by Warren Rupp. AODD pumps were designed to handle solids of any appreciable size. To accelerate wear during the development of the pump, a slurry of very abrasive silica sand was continuously cycled through the pump. The sand slurry often wore through the piping before the pump failed. Since the sand was pumped through a pipe, Warren E. Rupp, the company founder, named the pump the SANDPIPER.

The MARATHON® air-operated, double diaphragm pump (AODD) range offers customers a variety of unique problem solving AODD pump designs.

    About MARATHON Diaphragm Pumps:
Warren Rupp, Inc., a Unit of IDEX Corporation, pioneered the design and manufacture of air-operated, double diaphragm pumps. MARATHON diaphragm pumps are driven by compressed air. The directional air distribution valve and pilot valve, referred to as the "air end," are located in the center section of the pump. Liquid moves through two manifolds and outer chambers of the pump, referred to as the "wet end." Generally, check valves (ball-type or flap-type) are located at the top and bottom of each outer chamber or on a common manifold. The two outer chambers are connected by suction and discharge manifolds. The pumps are self-priming.

    Flotronic One-Nut AODD Pumps
Fast Maintenance AODD Pumps for both Process and Simple Transfer Applications

[Flotronic One-Nut Pumps, Flotronic AODD Pumps, Flotronic Pumps]

Flotronic One-Nut AODD Pumps Flotronic is a world leading manufacturer of air-operated double diaphragm Pumps and inventor of the revolutionary ONE-NUT™ design - a concept which is transforming the way pumps are being used throughout industry today.

The One-Nut Double Diaphragm Pump, unique to Flotronic, takes pump performance far beyond traditional style Double Diaphragm pumps. This fast maintenance concept literally turns the conventional pump inside out! Fluid passes between the diaphragms directly through the centre of the pump with air pressure operating on the outside. The pump is held together by one nut on the opposite side of the pump to the external air valve.

This design allows in-line diaphragm replacement to be accomplished in less than 15 minutes, with a complete stripdown and rebuild possible in less than 20 minutes. Using One-Nut pumps, engineers can significantly reduce process downtime and provide vast savings in maintenance costs, without compromising on pump performance.

Diaphragm lifetime is now so good, these pumps are often used instead of centrifugal or other process pumps.

    How the "One-Nut" Pump Works:

    The ONE-NUT Concept

The inside out concept allows fluid to pass between the diaphragms, directly through the centre of the pump. Air pressure operates on the outside. The benefits are:

    Longer Lasting Diaphragms
A significantly reduced stroke length allows use of thicker / stronger PTFE diaphragms as standard. Nitrile, Viton® and EPDM are also available.

    Faster Maintenance
Fifteen minutes to change diaphragms by the removal of just one nut and without disconnecting the pump from the pipework.

    Lower Cost Spares
Less than half the quantity of spare parts than any equivalent pump and interchangeability of most air system parts between different series of pumps.

    No Lubrication
A unique, patented air system incorporating a bolt on spool valve, including manual override buttons, eliminates costly internal air mechanisms and mid position stall normally associated with Double Diaphragm Pumps.

    Greater Inherent Safety
Plastic parts are kept within metal containment and potential leak paths are reduced to a minimum. Even under ATEX conditions pumps can be maintained 'in the zone' up to Zone I using anti-static PTFE-faced diaphragms.

    Flotronic AODD Pumps
    Flotronic Pumps dont need:

    Clamp Bands
We utilize self-aligning bead seals integral with the diaphragms.

    Complicated Air Mechanisms
We simply bolt on a spool valve.

    Lubrication
    We use self-lubricating PTFE parts.

Flotronic AODD Pumps Why not try a one-nut concept Double Diaphragm Pump?

If you've got air on site, consider this:
    • Self-priming – will lift up to 11.8 ft (3.6m) dry
    • Very high viscosity capability
    • Can run dry
    • Low shear
    • No lubrication
    • Any material you want
    • PTFE diaphragms as standard
    • Ultra clean
    • Variable speed or pressure
    • Fifteen minute maintenance in line
    • Customized pumps a speciality
    • Can stop/re-start against a closed/open valve without pressure relief or damage. (No by-pass required)

    Flotronic One-Nut AODD Pumps: Minichem
    ONE-BLOCK PTFE Chemical Pumps
[Flotronic One-Nut Pumps, Flotronic AODD Pumps, Flotronic Pumps]

Flotronics Minchem is a totally new and unique air-operated double diaphragm pump which is machined from one solid block of PTFE, removing the need for separate manifolds and steel casing or "box". One of the great benefits of this "ONE-BLOCK" approach is that it further enhances the ease of maintenance benefit which Flotronics "ONE-NUT" design so effectively pioneered. Minichem maintenance requires only "ONE-NUT" disassembly ... and on the ball valves only when necessary.

Able to transfer aggressive chemicals and other hazardous materials at low 13 GPM (50 LPM) and 26 GPM (100 LPM) flow rates through 1/2" and 1" connections respectively, the absence of any housing and separate manifolds mean that the new Minichem AODD pump has no manifold seals and therefore no obvious leak paths.
      Features:
    • Only "one nut" to access diaphragms with pump "in-line"
    • Able to handle aggressive chemicals and other products at temperatures up to 176°F (80°C)
    • Absence of separate manifolds gives greater pump integrity with fewer parts to go wrong or wear
    • ATEX approved version available (FDA approved anti-static)

[Pipe Pulsation Dampeners, Pump Pulsation Dampeners, Pulsation Dampers]

Click Here to Request a Quote or More Information Pulsation Dampeners reduce stress and optimize flow

Use of Air Operated Diaphragm pumps or other styles of pumps, which produce a pulsed flow, can create vibration in the delivery pipe work. Flotronics dampener fitted in any conforming position in a pipe work system will eliminate up to 95% of pulsation, thus reducing vibration and all associated problems.

      Benefits of removing pulsation:
    • Reduces vibration and shake from pipe work
    • Reduces stress on pipe work joints and support brackets
    • Reduces the number of support brackets required
    • Allows more accurate readings when pumping through mass flow meters & other instruments
    • Increases safety by reducing pressure surges
Unique design eliminates the need for recharging
Flotronic pulsation dampener units differ from other pulsation dampener designs in that they utilise a constant air supply to maintain a live loaded diaphragm. By using standard factory air that is regulated to an optimum pressure - relative to dampener position - all the problems associated with recharging are eliminated.

    Diaphragm rupture protection
Flotrontic have a proven Diaphragm Protection System that can be incoporated into the design. This system utilises a secondary diaphragm to protect against leakage in the event of a primary diaphragm failure, thus improving the integrity for hazardous chemical applications. The inclusion of a secondary diaphragm allows the dampener unit to be fitted with an alarm or other leak detection device.

      Materials:
    • Aluminium PVC Polypropylene PVDF
    • PTFE (Teflon)
    • 304 Stainless Steel 316 Stainless Steel Hastelloy® (and other exotic metals)
    • Anti-Static grade plastics
    Sizes and pipework connections
